Childhood is considered to be the most important phase in life which determines the quality of health, well-being, learning and behaviour across the life span.
Access to a hygienic, stable home plays a major role in the health and well-being of children. Providing a safe and child friendly environment allows participation in the social, educational, economic and community aspects of their lives and fosters autonomy as an individual.
We renovate shelter homes to ensure basic standards of safety, sanitation and hygiene are met. We make them child-friendly.
Ensure that shelter homes in the country have the required guidance and resources to maintain basic standards of design & infrastructure in order to become a nurturing, childfriendly environment.
India has 11.9 million children out-of-school, the highest among South Asian countries. Low economic status (financial constraints) is one of its key causal factors. [Source: UNICEF]
We provide the 'Guardians Scholarship' to meritorious students/children to encourage them to continue their education or pursue their interests. We help remove financial constraint as a deterrent to continued education.
Ensure that every child living in shelters has the opportunity to continue their education and pursue their dreams
Children living in shelter homes often do not have their basic ID proofs or certificates in place. Due to this, they are unable to access certain rights, benefits or support they are eligible for.
We support shelter homes through the process of getting all the required ID documents, and to create a well-organized/trackable directory for the children residing in their homes.
Ensure that children in shelters have all the ID documents required to enable them to access their rights, benefits and pursue a dignified adult life.
